Some groovy Prog Metal right here mmm hmmm. You can clearly hear some Dream Theater, which means this should be some shredding goodness but with a Video Game-ish vibe (it reminds me of Dynasty Warriors OST, for some reason). And of course, there's nice layers of synths and some old-school synths soloes here and there - meaning that you must get this instantly.

Atebite and the Warring Nations (2006)

Level (2008)
Check A Song: "Three"(Bandcamp)

Midnight Orphans (2010)
Check A Song: "Marathon"(Bandcamp)
(His most calm and chill album)

Deorbit (2011)
Check A Song: "Polis"(Bandcamp)

Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar (2012)

(Many of his albums can be found for free at his Bandcamp)
Just like Danimal Cannon; this dude mixes Chiptune with Progressive Rock and live instruments. The difference is, this dude has been making this for around 7 years! And of course, their sound are drastically different, but amazing nonetheless. I suggest grabbing at least "Atebite", "Level", "Neutralite" and "Obsidian Interstellar". But I SERIOUSLY suggest you grab everything and be blown away.

P.S. He also has made a ton of OST for many (underground) games, mostly mobile games and downloadable ones. Should post them sometime in separate posts.

Oh Em GEE!!! Take Motionless Battle, make it less Experimental and not Space-y, add big blue balls and you have Lyode. Actually this is way different than MB, I just thought of the closest thing to this, but anyways, this is some insane shit. I hear a bit of Breakcore, Electronic, some Progressive-ness and overall just chaotic-ness. You need this, for real.

Now this is some rocking shit right here. Even though they follow the same formula of VGM, there's something about them that seems very fresh, original and well, better than most who does it. These guys also, instead of doing one song from a game and sticking to that one, they do multiple game songs on one; "Medleys" if you would. I guess another thing that sets them apart is the way this is recorded, it sounds "live", giving this a raw feel to it.

The Black Mages - Discography

Genre: Progressive Metal / VGM / Symphonic

Quality: All in 320 Kbps

 The Black Mages (2003)
The Black Mages II: The Skies Above (2004)
Check A Song: "Hunter's Chance"

The Black Mages III: Darkness And Sunlight (2008)
Finding I and III are a bitch to find on this quality and II is IMPOSSIBLE (first blog with II on 320 Kbps btw). Features someone you may or may not know, ummm... it's NOBUO MUDDAFOCKIN' UEMATSU!!! In case you don't know who he is, he's probably the most famous Music Composer from Square Enix and from Video Games really. As for the music, this is some hard rocking stuff with a focus on the synths and guitar, but I'd say more synth (so you synth fans get this ASAP). Very proggy and even a bit jazzy in very few instances.

I'm pretty sure a few of you checked out "Metroid Metal - Expansion Pack". Well if you dug that, GET THIS ASAP!!! Although this is a year older than that EP, this is 10 times better (despite that EP being super awesome already) and of course, longer and bit more rough sounding; which gives it that heavy, chunky sound I love. Also, don't forget to check the old songs, they are (of course) more rough sounding but bad-ass nonetheless, hell, I like some of the old versions more than the new ones. Never can't have enough Metroid Metal really...

Gorgeous stuff right here. Very chill, ambient-y BUT it doesn't just stay like that, it gets pretty upbeat as well, enough to make you dance a bit or just rock out the old-fashioned way. Assured to give you a bit of Nostalgia as well.

This dude gives Powerglove a run for their money (by himself) with his shredtastic, guitar-driven covers. Even though he barely has 2 albums, honestly he does VGM better than most. Guitar/Video Games nerds NEED to check this.

P.S Try looking for this in 320 kbps on other blogs. Seriously try. First blog with it! VGM FTW!

This dude gives Powerglove a run for their money (by himself) with his shredtastic, guitar-driven covers. His Dr. Wily cover is probably the best I've heard (and that song is one of the most covered songs in VGM, besides the obvious Mario song) and honestly he does VGM better than most. Guitar/Video Games nerds NEED to check this.

Mindflowers - Improgressive

Track List

1. Red Spider
2. Falling
3. Sick Spirit
4. Why?
5. Why Not?
6. Crying Skies
7. Knowing The Path
8. Flo`s Kisses

Check A Song: "Red Spider"(Youtube)
Perhaps one of all-time favorite albums of Progressive Metal? Maybe Top 10 along with their second and last album (which I would definitely post, but it's impossible to find a 320 Kbps version of it). Anyways, super duper jazzy stuff, everyone is on point with their instruments, especially the bassist, it's very up-front and the dude definitely shines throughout the album. For prog fanatics only really, not for everyone.
