2 dudes making gorgeous Progressive Metal infused with Chiptune and Jazz. Half of Teleidofusion is C-Jeff (who is already posted here, and if you don't know him yet, well I suggest you change that now) and features many guests that add greatness to the album with sax solos, live keyboards and even some flutes. Oh yes and this is pretty damn funky too, don't skip this guys.

This is turning into one of my favorite OST of all times. You get everything here, seriously - you get TONS of synths, you get straight-up Metal up your ass, some Proggy stuff, Hair Metal, Dancy/Poppy stuff and even some Surf Rock. And you better know by now that the 80's vibe is super strong here.

Some groovy Prog Metal right here mmm hmmm. You can clearly hear some Dream Theater, which means this should be some shredding goodness but with a Video Game-ish vibe (it reminds me of Dynasty Warriors OST, for some reason). And of course, there's nice layers of synths and some old-school synths soloes here and there - meaning that you must get this instantly.

Amazing Prog. Rock with the Metal-riffs with a foundation on Acoustic-riffs. A very interesting idea but extremely well-done, it's like they feed off each other or something - it's awesome whatever she's doing. Oh yeah and the vocals? Out.Of.This.World! She sings like an angel and the lyrics are, I guess personal? But with a Video-Game style, giving this a journey feel to it. This really gave me a very pleasant surprise, don't miss out on this.

(P.S. I kinda have a crush on her, but I swear, what I said about this album is NOT biased. The previews should show you that. Ohh and I added lyrics cuz im such a cool guy)

If anyone knows me, they know I'm picky about Djent and that I hate a lot of it. But this? This is the ♫ titties ♫. Yeah sure it's a bit "djeneric" but the vibe this guys put in their music (which is like the name implies, very cartoon-ish and kinda Japanese too) put this above their competition. And besides the fact that these guys can shred, there is an incredible use of keyboards, solo-ing, groove and overall just a very fun vibe, and a fun listen.

The video is just an idea - obviously this is more Chiptune than anything, it's just I couldn't find a video from this album. He DOES, however, include shredding guitars to the music, which gives it a "Progressive" sound. A level above other Chiptune artists really, this dude makes perfect Chiptune.

Oh Em GEE!!! Take Motionless Battle, make it less Experimental and not Space-y, add big blue balls and you have Lyode. Actually this is way different than MB, I just thought of the closest thing to this, but anyways, this is some insane shit. I hear a bit of Breakcore, Electronic, some Progressive-ness and overall just chaotic-ness. You need this, for real.

Don't judge this album just because of the lame-ass cover art, this is equally as awesome as their first album Leg Vacuum. This time, they are covering a few songs from TV Shows and even some vocals, showing more their humorous side. A bit more jazzy sounding than their previous effort (Bonus!!) and just stupidly dope really.

Armcannon - Leg Vacuum

Genre: VGM / Progressive Metal / 8-Bit
From: Buffalo, New York (USA)
Year: 2008
Quality: 320 Kbps

Track List

1. Cranial Syphon (Kraid) (Metroid)

6. Dutch Town (Tecmo Superbowl)
7. Bigger Boards [Still More Fighting] (Final Fantasy VII)
8. Dozen Elf Death Gel (The Legend of Zelda & The Adventure of Link)

Download (MF) / Bandcamp ($8)
I know I say this a lot but... this is some pretty amazing stuff. These guys have a similar VGM / Prog Metal style to Metroid Metal, but of course, these dudes don't just cover Metroid songs (even though they cover some Metroid stuff) and also, SYNTHS!!! and a lot of 8-Bit too, which rarely gets used on VGM. Also, this stuff is pretty damn heavy.

Earthbound Papas - Octave Theory

Genre: Progressive Metal / Symphonic / VGM
From: Tokyo, Japan
Year: 2011
Quality: 320 Kbps

Track List

1. Introduction ~Octopus Theory
2. Liberi Fatali (from FINAL FANTASY VIII)
3. Advent: One-Winged Angel (from FINAL FANTASY VII Advent Children)
4. Thread of Fate (from GUINSAGA)
5. Metal Hypnotized
6. Eternity (from BLUE DRAGON)
7. The Forest of a Thousand Years
8. Bo-Kon-Ho-Ko (from LOST ODYSSEY)
9. Homecoming

Nobuo's second band and it's actually on the same vein as The Black Mages. Very symphonic and Guitar-driven but this has vocals; Opera-style of vocals and it isn't only FF covers (and if I'm not mistaken, there are a few original pieces). I still like The Black Mages more, but this stuff is pretty cool as well, I highly suggest this if you liked TBM.

The Black Mages III: Darkness And Sunlight (2008)
Finding I and III are a bitch to find on this quality and II is IMPOSSIBLE (first blog with II on 320 Kbps btw). Features someone you may or may not know, ummm... it's NOBUO MUDDAFOCKIN' UEMATSU!!! In case you don't know who he is, he's probably the most famous Music Composer from Square Enix and from Video Games really. As for the music, this is some hard rocking stuff with a focus on the synths and guitar, but I'd say more synth (so you synth fans get this ASAP). Very proggy and even a bit jazzy in very few instances.

I'm pretty sure a few of you checked out "Metroid Metal - Expansion Pack". Well if you dug that, GET THIS ASAP!!! Although this is a year older than that EP, this is 10 times better (despite that EP being super awesome already) and of course, longer and bit more rough sounding; which gives it that heavy, chunky sound I love. Also, don't forget to check the old songs, they are (of course) more rough sounding but bad-ass nonetheless, hell, I like some of the old versions more than the new ones. Never can't have enough Metroid Metal really...

Perhaps one of all-time favorite albums of Progressive Metal? Maybe Top 10 along with their second and last album (which I would definitely post, but it's impossible to find a 320 Kbps version of it). Anyways, super duper jazzy stuff, everyone is on point with their instruments, especially the bassist, it's very up-front and the dude definitely shines throughout the album. For prog fanatics only really, not for everyone.

*Drum roll* And the BTBAM award of 2011 goes to...these guys!! Their influence over these guys' sound is very apparent and normally I frown upon BTBAM soundalikes, but these guys do it so well. This is one of those albums that's much better if listened all the way through without skipping anything. Everyone's on point with their instruments (especially the guitarists) and it's very energetic, very upbeat stuff.
